Jeff Eisen - Oneness Perceived

Midway through his career as a practicing psychotherapist, Dr. Jeff Eisen had a powerful spiritual experience that changed the course of his life. This awakening to what he describes as the “aperceptual” dimension of reality led him to write the book Oneness Perceived, and to create a unique form of enlightenment psychology called psychonoetics.

In this interview with EnlightenNext Director of Education Jeff Carreira, Eisen explains his fascinating take on psychotherapy and a new kind of spiritual awakening that he calls “second-level enlightenment.” Eisen describes the progression of spiritual development as occurring in two stages. First-level awakening occurs when individuals become more identified with pure consciousness than they are with the emotions, thoughts, and identities that make up the contents of consciousness. But according to Eisen, there is still further to go, and through a process of “psychonoetic clearing,” which he likens to constructing a monastery without walls, the individual reintegrates their enlightened awareness with the conditioned structures of the mind and ego, transforming them in the process.

Dr. Jeff Eisen is psychological intuitive and enlightenment therapist as well as a philosopher, writer and educator. He has a PhD in Psychology and is certified in both Psychoanalysis and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
