Since losing her arm to a tiger shark at the age of 13, Bethany Hamilton has chosen to use her experience to become an inspiration and help others to overcome adversity, no matter how great. Just a year after her attack, the US Surfing Association crowned Bethany its National Champion. This year, she ranked 5th in the world in surfing for girls under the age of 18.

Bethany's story has been told both nationally and internationally in newspapers, magazines, talk shows, and more. She has a multi-book deal with Zondervan and is a best-selling Christian author. Her inspirational faith has resounded through Christian venues across the world, including the Crystal Cathedral, Billy Graham Television, and Pat Robertson's 700 Club. In 2007, a documentary was released about her experience, and a major motion picture is currently in production about her life.
