Better Woodworking from WOOD magazine presents David Ellsworth - Hollow Turning:

Master woodturner David Ellsworth first came to the lathe in 1958 at the age of 14. After completing a master of Fine Arts degree in scuplture in 1973, he returned to the lathe with an interest in making vessel forms. By 1975, he had develeoped a series of bent turning tools that allowed him to hollow a solid wooden form through a tiny entrance hole - a process he called "Blind Turning." Today, he is acknowledged as the pioneer of turning thin-walled hollow vessels in wood.

In this video, Ellsworth explores the full range of his knowledge and experience in making hollow forms. Filmed entirely in his Buck's County, Pennsylvania studio, all subjects are presented in a detailed, step-by-step sequence that reflects his style of teaching. Ellsworth's approach is refreshingly low key and definitely "low tech." He firmly believes that the purpose of tutorial video is to provide the tools of "content" needed by the viewer to expand their own interests in woodturning.

This how-to woodworking video runs 2 hours, 5 minutes.
