I love to run and I know how much doing Pilates has helped my running. The exercises that I’ve included in the Personalizing Pilates/runners MP3 workout are designed to increase your speed, lengthen your stride and reduce your chances of injury. You’ll develop the strength and endurance that you need to run with ease. The core strengthening along with the hip mobility exercises will help make your body more efficient.
I sent a copy of this workout to Kathrine Switzer who is the first woman to officially run in the Boston Marathon (in 1967). She wrote me a lovely letter in which she said “I listened and did the routine --- TREMENDOUS! I loved it. Your workout is helping me a lot. Thank you.”
The Personalizing Pilates/runners MP3 workout program includes three files. First is the free Ab Tutorial, which is a short MP3 workout that teaches you how to find and engage your deepest, supportive abdominal muscles. These muscles are important because they support the spine while your legs move and flatten the tummy! In the MP3 workout, my voice guides you through a Pilates workout that focuses on strengthening your abdominals, mobilizing your hips and stretching out tight leg muscles. For those of you who are visual learners, a photo-illustrated document is included that shows the exercises in the order in which they are taught.
This workout was created by and is taught by Sherry Lowe-Bernie, owner of Personalizing Pilates. Sherry is a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher, which means that you are working with one of the best Pilates teachers you can find. Sherry has over ten years experience teaching Pilates and over twenty-five years teaching fitness. Sherry is currently training to run her fourth half-marathon.
